Gary Green
Gary Green is a long-time ally of Indian Gaming and an active advocate for Tribal sovereignty since the early 1970’s. Over the course of his career, he has worked in nearly every role within casinos —from maintenance and marketing to general manager, CEO, developer, and financier— giving him a rare, end-to-end understanding of how gaming enterprises function in practice. Along the way, he has had direct, first-hand encounters with decades of so-called “innovations” that later proved to be financial and contractual scams targeting both tribes and tribal enterprises.
He is the author of fifteen books. His most recent work, TRUST ME: The Secret Language of Financial Scams—How the Bright, the Busy, and the Bold Get Duped… and What You Can Learn from Them (2026), examines the mechanics of modern fraud, misdirection, and institutionalized deception.
In addition to his work in gaming and business, Green is also a well-known folk singer whose albums are now part of the Smithsonian Collection. He is an inductee of the California Music Hall of Fame and has received special citations from both the United States Congress and the Governor of Maryland in recognition of his cultural and civic contributions.
