Loretta Tuell, Nez Perce, became passionate about UNITY when she attended a UNITY White House event in the 1980’s. In 2025, she was honored for her 30 years of volunteer service to the nonprofit organization. Loretta has served as the Chairwoman of the UNITY Board of Trustees for 24 years. Ms. Tuell is an attorney and public policy advisor for Indian tribes. She has practiced in the arena of federal Indian law and policy in Washington, D.C. for more than 20 years. As managing principal at Tuell Law based in southern California since 2017, Loretta's practice focuses on American Indian law, governmental law and policy, and gaming matters.
