Robert Gdowski
Bob Gdowski, AIA, is a Principal and Director of Hospitality Design at JCJ Architecture, where he leads the firm’s work in gaming, hospitality, and resort development. An architect and master planner with nearly three decades of experience shaping destination properties, Bob has dedicated much of his career to helping Tribal Nations and gaming enterprises create places that strengthen economic independence, support community priorities, and deliver compelling guest experiences.
Bob has worked closely with tribal leadership teams, gaming authorities, and development partners to plan and design casino resorts that function not only as entertainment destinations, but also as long-term economic and cultural assets. His approach emphasizes listening first—understanding each Nation’s goals, values, and community aspirations—and translating them into development strategies and design solutions that support sustainable growth.
Throughout his career, Bob has contributed to the planning and design of numerous gaming and hospitality destinations, ranging from casino floor expansions and amenity upgrades to large-scale integrated resort developments. His work focuses on aligning architecture, interior environments, and guest experience with operational performance and long-term financial success.
In addition to tribal gaming projects, Bob has collaborated with major hospitality and entertainment brands including MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment, Bally's Corporation, Wynn Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International, and Hilton. This experience has informed his perspective on how resort destinations evolve and how gaming properties compete within an increasingly experience-driven hospitality marketplace.
Bob’s global perspective is shaped by years spent living and working in major resort development markets including Las Vegas and Shanghai during periods of rapid hospitality growth. These experiences provided firsthand insight into the scale, speed, and innovation shaping modern resort development and continue to inform his work with clients today.
Within the tribal gaming sector, Bob is particularly interested in how casinos and resorts can serve as broader community anchors—places that bring people together, reflect cultural identity, and support regional tourism and economic diversification. He frequently speaks on topics including the evolution of gaming environments, the integration of hospitality amenities, and the role of design and master planning in strengthening community connection within tribal destinations.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master in Planning from the University of Southern California and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute. Through his work and industry engagement, he remains focused on helping tribal gaming enterprises create destinations that are both culturally meaningful and economically resilient.
