Tracy Sam Biography
Tracy Sam is a casino-industry veteran with over 35 years of experience in casino operations and management. She has been involved since the groundbreaking of the Mille Lacs Band’s first casino – Grand Casino Mille Lacs. She was involved from the long hours of construction and floor planning to the first job fairs in rural communities to hire Grand Casino Associates in 1991.
In 1992 Sam took a brief hiatus from Grand Casino Mille Lacs to work for the Mille Lacs Band, where she gained a wealth of knowledge working for Human Resources, and later for the Chief Executive on Tribal government operations.
In December 2003, Sam returned to Grand Casino Mille Lacs as the Assistant General Manager, where she assisted in oversight of the gaming operations of Grand Casino Mille Lacs. She served as the Vice President of Human Resources for Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures, before taking her role in 2015 as the General Manager of Grand Casino Mille Lacs, a position she holds today.
Tracy lives in Isle, Minnesota. She has two daughters—Kelly and Rachel, and four grandchildren—Taya, Noah, Kellen and Jaxon; and in her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family.
